Florida's existing home sales increased 15% in August 2011 compared to August 2010! That is wonderful news and in addition to that, the median sales price for existing homes that sold here in Florida last month was up 2% from a year ago according to the Florida Association of Realtors.
Not only home sales are showing that the housing market here in Florida is turning around, condo sales are also up! When we compare August 2011 to August 2010 we see an increase of 17% in condo sales! The median price for existing condo sales here in the Sunshine State in that same timeframe is up 12%.
I have been repeatedly saying that it is time to make that purchase if you are indeed planning on becoming a homeowner and as you can see from these numbers, the ship is already sailing out to sea!
With mortgage interest rates for a 30-year fixed rate as low as they are right now, it is really puzzling why some are still waiting..............the 30 year fixed rate averaged 4.27% in August 2011 according to figures from Freddie Mac. Folks, it isn't going to get any better than that!
