Safety Harbor Florida has some beautiful old live oak trees and those that reside in Philippe Park on Tampa Bay are certainly no exception.
While taking a long walk though the park recently, I took time to get a few photos of these magnificent trees. If only they could transmit all that they have witnessed through their long lives, think of the history we could learn!
White people have only lived in this area since the Spaniards came. Before that, this area was an important settlement for Native Americans. Philippe Park's mound was an important lookout point over Tampa Bay. Ah, the history these trees could share...................
